This five-week, ten-class virtual learning classroom (VLC), offered by the National Veterans Technical Assistance Center (NVTAC) will give participating HVRP grantee staff the opportunity to learn how to assist homeless veterans to enter or return to the workforce. The course is aimed at new HVRP staff, particularly newly awarded grant projects, and will discuss best practices and approaches in HVRP. Each 75 minute class will be delivered through the Adobe Connect platform with conference calling for audio participation. Participants will be encouraged to use webcams for their participation (although this is NOT required).
The VLC makes use of both didactic teaching in a webcast format and the opportunity for regularly scheduled discussion of key issues. During this four-week course, we will alternate class structure with Mondays as the day for didactic experience and Wednesday for group discussion. Although we identified topics for the discussion groups, during these sessions participants can bring up additional topics or issues that they would like to explore with their colleagues and instructors. We will invite seasoned HVRP leaders to address the class on Wednesdays on the topic of the day.
All meetings will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. Eastern Time.
