NVTAC Virtual Learning Classrooms
NVTAC Virtual Learning Classrooms (VLCs) make use of both didactic teaching in a webcast format and the opportunity for regularly scheduled discussion of key issues. Each 75-minute class is delivered through the Adobe Connect platform, with conference calling for audio participation. Guest speakers from the field are often invited to a class to present their views on a topic. Participants are encouraged to use webcams for their participation (although this is NOT required).
The most recent VLC was aimed at new HVRP staff, particularly newly awarded grant projects, and discussed best practices and approaches in HVRP. Although we identified topics for the discussion groups, participants were able to bring up additional topics or issues they wanted to explore with their colleagues and instructors. We’ve also held VLCs on social enterprises and HVRP, and on meeting the needs of justice-involved veterans. Check back soon for access to the recordings and materials for past VLCs.
Stay tuned for information about future VLCs and registration links. If there is a particular topic that would you like us to address, let us know at NVTAC@ahpnet.com
